In depth
How this service works on site
External wall corners are the single most-damaged surface on any build. They take direct hits from material trolleys, plasterboard sheets being carried around tight turns, and ladders being moved between rooms. A bashed corner means re-rendering, re-cornicing or — worst case — re-tiling around the chip.
Foam-filled L-profile guards absorb the impact: the foam compresses, the L-profile stays in place. We size guards to the corner condition — taller for high-traffic doorway corners, full-height for column edges, custom-length for benchtop islands.
All corner guards are reusable: they come off clean at handover, get stored, and travel to the next job. For builders running multiple projects this means the corner protection ends up being one of the cheapest line items on the protection schedule per project.
Our process
From drawings to handover
- 01
Site survey for impact zones
Walk the site, mark every external corner trades will be working around. Doorways, columns, island ends, reveal corners.
- 02
Guard sizing & quote
Per-corner length and height. Reusable guards are quoted at per-job rental + delivery + removal.
- 03
Install
Foam-back tape mounting, no nails or staples into the corner. Guards sit flush — trades work around them, not over them.
- 04
Mid-build replacement (when needed)
Heavy hits get replaced same-week. We track which corners had a replacement so the builder has the documentation.
- 05
Removal & corner condition check
Guards lift clean. Corner condition photographed before handover — proof of intact finish.
Why Dun
What sets this service apart
Reusable, not single-use cardboard
Cardboard corner wraps absorb one hit and tear. Our L-profile guards stay structural through dozens of impacts. Per-project cost drops every reuse.
Sized to the corner, not generic
Doorway corners need 1.8m height. Column edges need full height. Benchtops need custom length. We don't ship 'one size' — we ship the right size.
No fastener into the finished corner
Foam-back adhesive mounting only. No nails, no staples, no holes left behind in plasterboard or render.
Tracked, photographed, documented
Every corner guard install gets a photo. Every replacement gets a note. Builder gets a clean audit trail at handover.
FAQ
Common questions about this service
Will the adhesive damage render or paint?
Foam-back tape rated for short-term construction protection — tested on render, paint, plasterboard and even sealed timber without surface marks. We test-strip an offcut at the start of each job.
Do corner guards work on rounded (bullnose) corners?
Yes — we use foam wrap-around guards rather than L-profile for bullnose. Foam compresses to the radius and tapes back on itself.
Can guards stay in place through tiling?
For wall corners adjacent to tiling: yes, but we coordinate with the tiler so they don't tile against the guard. For column corners being tiled: we remove and reinstall after tile cure.
What about temporary guards for a single-day delivery?
We have a day-rate option for big delivery days (kitchen drop, big stone slab). Install in the morning, remove end of day.
